Site Engineer Job Profile:

An international main contractor is looking for a Site Engineer to join their team working on data centre construction projects. This position is to be based initially in Sweden (local to Stockholm) with other projects coming up in both the same location and elsewhere in Europe.

This contractor largely works on data centre construction projects across Europe, with most of their business being focused in Sweden, Germany, and Denmark. This company is large with excellent opportunity for progression – they’re well known for giving tremendous progression opportunity to those seeking it.

Site Engineer Key Activities

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Engineer with be responsible for the following tasks:

• Providing technical advice in relation to the projects
• Applying designs and plans to mark out the site
• Setting out, levelling and surveying the site
• Determining the location of above and under-ground infrastructural installations
• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
• Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications
• Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant
• Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents
• Liaising with the client, design team members and local authority as necessary
• Making proposals for resolving unexpected technical difficulties
• Representing the interests of the company and client
• Organising the various professional people working on a project
• Carrying out risk assessments
• Attending site meetings
• Making sure the project is running in accordance to the programme and on budget
• Ensuring an efficient construction site
• Delivering projects with the highest quality
• Working with the Health & Safety Department ensuring safe construction at all times

Site Engineer Specification

The following will be required of the Site Engineer:

• 3-5 years’ experience in similar roles
• Prior experience working on data centre construction projects.
• Prior experience working for a general contractor
• Must be able to work in the EU / Sweden without requiring a new visa / work permit.

Site Engineer Personal Skills and Qualifications

The successful Site Engineer will possess the following:

• A degree in a relevant field
• Must be eligible to work in the EU / Sweden without require a new visa / work permit
