    MEP Cost Manager Job Profile:

    An international main contractor is looking for an MEP Cost Manager to join their team working on data centre construction projects. This position is to be primarily based in Frankfurt full time whilst working on projects across Germany. Some travel to these sites will be required.

    This contractor largely works on colocation data centre construction projects across Europe, with most of their business being focused in the Benelux region. They have a very progressive flat management structure and individuals working for this company will often find themselves able to see entire projects through from cradle to grave.

    MEP Cost Manager Key Activities

    The successful MEP Cost Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

    • Cost management duties on projects through from estimation to final accounts
    • Procurement of MEP subcontract packages and equipment. Ensuring supply chain compliance with insurances & local governance
    • Provide cost advise and recommendations to award to management and directors
    • Risk mitigation within the supply chain and overall project
    • Reporting and projecting profitability of the MEP packages – cost/value
    • Change order management downstream and upstream
    • Reporting key commercial elements
    • Attend design meetings and management of design development commercially
    • Labour forecasts and monitoring
    • Cost measurement, verification and agreement of payments, validation of contractor submissions / quotations, final account agreements with Sub-Contractors & direct subcontract labour
    • Financial control and monitoring of projects
    • Financial reporting to directors
    • Actively assess market pricing and benchmarking
    • Develop and train junior staff as required
    • Post project review and analysis
    • Ongoing risk identification and mitigation
    • Adherence to relevant legislations and standards
    • Ensuring the company is protected at all times and not exposed contractually
    • Verify subcontractor insurances
    • Review incoming correspondence from client and subcontractors and prepare replies
    • All other cost management task as required


    MEP Cost Manager Specification

    The following will be required of the MEP Cost Manager:

    • Prior experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical, or semi-conductor projects would be ideal
    • Prior experience working for a main contractor or sub-contractor
    • Must be home-based in the Germany or willing to relocate local to Frankfurt
    • Preferably you can speak German fluently or are working towards it

    MEP Cost Manager Personal Skills and Qualifications

    The successful MEP Cost Manager will possess the following:

    • Preferably a degree in a relevant field
    • Must be eligible to work in Germany / the EU
